1. Use the Extension Email from Squarespace
At the end of your two-week trial, Squarespace will send you an email asking if you’d like to extend your trial. Here’s what to do:
Open the email from Squarespace.
Click the “Extend Trial” (or something like that)button in the email.
Your trial will be extended without any further steps.
Pro Tip: If you don’t see this email, check your spam or junk folder—it might have landed there!
2. Email Squarespace Support Directly
If you missed the email or didn’t receive it, don’t worry. You can still request an extension manually:
Go to the Help section in your Squarespace dashboard.
Submit a request asking to extend your trial.
Squarespace’s support team is usually quick to respond and will likely grant you additional time.
3. Use the Easy URL Trick
Now, for the fun part—a simple URL trick you can use to extend your trial period yourself. Here’s how:
Log in to your Squarespace dashboard and open the site you want to extend.
Look at the URL in your browser. It should end with
/config
.At the end of the URL, type
extend-trial
so it looks like this:https://your-site.squarespace.com/config/extend-trial
Hit Enter, and bingo-bango! Your trial is extended instantly, and you can continue working on your site.
This trick works even if your trial has already expired, so it’s a great backup option.
Bonus Tip: Become a Squarespace Circle Member
If you’re building multiple websites or considering Squarespace for the long term, becoming a Squarespace Circle Member might be the best option for you. Here’s how it helps:
Extended Trial Periods: Get six months of free trial time instead of just two weeks.
Discounts: Enjoy 20% off your first year of website and email campaign subscriptions.
Eligibility: To qualify, you need to be a manager or contributor on three active Squarespace sites.
If you don’t have three sites, you can ask friends or collaborators to invite you as a contributor to their sites.
Wrapping Up
Extending your Squarespace free trial is easier than you might think. Whether you rely on the automated email, reach out to support, or use the handy URL trick, you’ll have extra time to decide or fine-tune your website before committing.
