Step-by-Step Guide to Changing the Mobile Menu Background Color

Step 1: Switch to Mobile View

  1. Log in to your Squarespace dashboard and navigate to the website you want to customize.

  2. Enter Edit Mode and toggle to the Mobile View using the preview tools.

Step 2: Access the Mobile Menu

  1. Click Edit Site Header to get access to the mobile menu.

  2. Click View Menu to open up the mobile menu.

  1. After clicking View Menu you’ll need to click Edit Design and then you’ll click Color.

  2. You’ll see a list of color presets based on your site’s selected color palette.

    • Select a preset, like “Dark 2,” to quickly apply a predefined style.

Step 4: Customize the Menu Overlay

  1. To further customize, go to Site Styles > Colors.

    • Locate the color palette you’ve chosen (e.g., “Dark 2”).

    • Hover over the palette, and click the pencil icon to open the customization menu.

  2. Scroll to the Menu Overlay section within the color palette editor.

  3. Adjust the following settings:

    • Background Color: Choose a new color from the presets or create a custom color using the color picker.

    • Link Colors: Update the link text color to ensure it contrasts well with the background.

    Button Background & Text Colors: If your menu includes buttons, update these to match your design.
