How to Add Pinterest Save Buttons to Your Squarespace Website

Remember when Pinterest boards were all the rage? While they may not be talked about as much these days, they’re still a fantastic tool for organizing and sharing content. If you're using Pinterest (or your audience is), giving people the ability to save images from your Squarespace website directly to their boards is a smart move!

In this post, I’ll show you how to set up Pinterest save buttons on your Squarespace site, making it super easy for visitors to save your images.

Why Add Pinterest Save Buttons?

Pinterest is still a powerful platform for discovery, especially if you're in a visually-driven industry like photography, design, or fashion—or even if you're an author with a beautifully designed book cover! Allowing users to save images from your website directly to their Pinterest boards can help spread your brand and content organically. Plus, it’s an easy way to encourage engagement.

Step-by-Step Guide to Adding Pinterest Save Buttons

Step 1: Access Your Squarespace Settings

To begin, log into your Squarespace dashboard and head to your site’s main menu:

  • From the dashboard, click on the “Settings” gear icon. ⚙️

  • Then you should be under the “Website” section, then you’ll scroll down a little to find and click on the Pinterest save buttons option.

Step 2: Enable Pinterest Save Buttons

Once you're in the website settings:

  • Scroll down until you see the “Pinterest Save Buttons” option.

  • By default, this feature will probably be disabled, so you'll need to turn it on. You can choose to enable it for all pages or just specific sections, like blogs and products.

Step 3: Choose Your Button Style

Squarespace lets you customize the look of your Pinterest save buttons:

  • You can choose between small or large buttons, and whether you prefer a rectangular button or just the Pinterest circle logo.

  • I personally like the clean look of the small circle logo, but feel free to pick the one that fits your design best.

Once you’ve made your selections, click Save to apply the changes.

Step 4: Test It Out

Now that your Pinterest buttons are enabled, go ahead and refresh your site. Hover over any image, and you should see the Pinterest logo pop up. If you click the logo, it will open Pinterest and allow you (or your visitors) to save the image to a Pinterest board of choice.

Why This is Useful for Your Site

Adding Pinterest save buttons is a great way to expand your website’s reach. When visitors pin your images to their Pinterest boards, their followers see your content too, creating an opportunity for more people to discover your brand. Whether you're promoting a book, a product, or just beautiful visuals, having Pinterest integrated into your website gives your content more exposure.

Wrapping Up

And that’s it! Adding Pinterest save buttons to your Squarespace website is quick and simple, but it can make a big impact when it comes to getting your images shared and discovered.
